West London College’s Inclusive Learning Department supports over 140 students with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our students are supported to achieve their potential and have progressed into employment, inclusive apprenticeships and supported internships. The newly established SEND Coordinator role will create a ‘fit for purpose’ management structure to add value to existing practice that will be best placed to deliver high quality care and education to that will be best placed to deliver high quality care and education to Inclusive learners. This includes developing the SEND Preparation for Adulthood agenda that has significant requirements on EHCP outcomes for employment, health, care and independent living.
You will be responsible for managing the learner support provision within the Inclusive Learning Department. You will ensure the quality of delivery and that all learners needs are identified and they are supported to achieve their aspirations, while ensuring safeguarding and wellbeing needs are met.
● To manage and quality assure the assessment and allocation of support for students with SEND.
● To develop resources and advise staff on relevant issues with supporting learners with SEND.
● To oversee the safeguarding and health and well-being of learners within Inclusive Learning.
● To ensure compliance of meeting the statutory needs as outlined in learners EHCP or SEN Support Plans.
● To manage Positive Behaviour Support and similar interventions to meet the needs of students with SEND
