The three special schools have recently federated and are now beginning their exciting new journey. The position will be primarily based at Woodlands School (Special School). However, the newly appointed member of staff would be employed by the federation.
Woodlands High School is seeking to appoint a self-motivated, self-disciplined colleague who is driven to do the best they can. We are looking for a Senior Teaching Assistant to work under the guidance of senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision and to be an active part of the school’s educational positive behaviour support (PBS) team. To lead, support and implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom in order to improve quality of life. This role also requires supervision of classes occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers, deliver training to staff or delegate tasks in order to ensure functional assessments are completed. They will also be expected to attend PBS meetings, annual reviews, IDP meetings, teach adapted skills, class meetings and provide insights into ways in improving pupil’s quality of life.
