City Academy Norwich is a dynamic, nurturing learning community that holds the highest expectations and aspirations for our students and staff. Our ethos is encapsulated by three simple words. Enjoy Respect Achieve.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) Assistant to offer advice and guidance to support children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The post holder will be expected to work alongside the Academy and families taking a lead role in delivering SEMH support to young people as identified by the Academy. This will involve supporting parents of children with early signs of SEMH or behaviour concerns, working with them to prevent problems escalating and interfering with the child’s ability to engage with school and learning.
It is essential you will have previous experience of working with children of relevant ages with additional needs in a range of settings including with SEMH challenges.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to support students on a one to one basis with curriculum support, anger management sessions and supporting small groups with class based activities. The role will involve working under the direction of the Academy SENCO.
Would you like to work in an Academy setting that:
- believes in every child achieving the very best they can
- is dedicated in helping you build a fulfilling and successful career
- strives to support your development to enable you to become outstanding in your field
- prioritises professional development, with a strong ethos of open and honest feedback
You could join us in an exciting time of improvement as we work in partnership with the highly successful ‘Bohunt Education Trust’. The Bohunt Trust, nurture and support professional ambitions by providing opportunities for training, development and progression, whatever stage you’ve reached in your career.
