We are looking to recruit Specialist Learning Support Assistant - English (Term Time Only)
Salary: £20,179 (Please note this salary has already been pro-rated accordingly and is inclusive of annual leave entitlement)
Hours: Term Time Only - 37 hours per week across 38 weeks each academic year (Please note if joining mid academic year, this would affect the salary)
The purpose of this role is to help students who need additional support in English to achieve their learning goals. The post holder will be expected to work within the framework of detailed learning and assessment plans drawn up and monitored by the English Lecturers. To provide specialist support in the English curriculum areas including the preparation, and organisation of resources. To have prepared lessons in English to be used in cover situations. To provide additional support to a range of learners as specified by the Learning Services Manager. The post will also involve supervising students and assisting with the preparation of learning resources and practical equipment and facilities, under the direction of the Curriculum Coordinator / Manager and Lecturers.
The role will involve working with students with a variety of support needs, including those with emotional and behavioral needs, learning difficulties and those who have disengaged from mainstream education.
This position will suit highly motivated and dedicated individuals with experience of supporting students in a college or school environment. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, will be qualified to at least level 2 in literacy and numeracy and will have a good level of IT skills. Ideally candidates will hold a qualification in providing learning support.
