An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist teacher to join ysgol Bro Dinefwr. If you share our ethos of inclusion and want to be part of a forward-thinking team and are passionate about giving young people with Autism the right chances that will help to shape their future, then please apply as you are the teacher we are looking for!
At Bro Dinefwr we are committed to inclusion and whilst most of our pupils’ needs can be met in our mainstream and Resource Base provision, a small number of young people with autism are based in Canolfan Cothi.
Canolfan Cothi is a purpose-built specialist facility for pupils who have a diagnosis of ASD. The centre has capacity for 35 pupils and provides specialist educational placements for children and young people between 11 and 19 years, all of whom are on the Autistic spectrum; some have severe or profound learning difficulties. Most of our learners have additional needs such as communication, emotional, social and health needs and challenging behaviour.
Canolfan Cothi is highly valued by pupils, parents, and the whole school community, as a centre of excellence. Our staff work very closely with the families of ASD learners and the agencies involved in their care. Other schools in the area use the centre for specialist support and advice.
We are looking for a teacher with experience, resilience, and determination to ensure the best outcomes for children with Autism. You will be organised, hardworking, and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will communicate clearly and be able to develop good working relationships with young people, their families, staff, and a range of other professionals.
Ysgol Bro Dinefwr is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
