Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Student Advisor to join our Student Support Services team.
The role will be based at Cambridge with flexibility to work at our Huntingdon campus should this be required.
You will work alongside the wider Student Support Services teams to provide a student centric service to students. You will be an integral part of the Student Support Services team, providing planned and responsive welfare support for students to ensure that they are able to overcome barriers that may impact their learning and development.
You will offer an advisory service on welfare issues including financial assistance, housing and mental wellbeing specifically supporting students who have been identified as being at risk of dropping out of their programmes. You will provide advice and guidance and allocations on the learner support fund. You will act as a Safeguarding Support Officer offering support on safeguarding and child protection issues ensuring that you are completing appropriate actions to safeguard students in line with the Colleges statutory duty and Knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE 2020).
You will report to the Senior Student Advisor and undertake regular case supervision to manage your workload.
The right candidate will have recent experience of working in a similar role in social work, youth and community work, advice and guidance or education. Experience of managing a safeguarding case load is desirable. The ability to be self-motivated and organised is essential as the right candidate will need to be able to prioritise their own workload responding to the most urgent referrals to ensure that the College is compliant in child protection procedures.
The successful candidate will be supported through access to supervision and be provided ongoing training and development to assist them in their role.
