The Role:
Our Digital provision is closely involved with regional employers who shape and support our curriculum and staff. In January 2015, we opened our brand new £9 million creative and digital skills building. This new facility houses;
• Programming Labs
• CISCO Academy workshop
• Hardware/computing workshop
• Digital Design studios.
• A new media suite, complete with animation and recording studios; radio and TV studio.
• Learning classrooms and open plan learning spaces for over 500 students
• Digital learning areas and practical computer and programming labs
Our pioneering facility ensures students are both academically and practically prepared for work within technically and creatively driven industries. Our Digital courses on offer 16-19 & 24+ routes in hardware and networking, software development and web development.
We are looking for a Digital studio supervisor (technician) who can support our IT students and staff to deliver sessions for our IT classes. The successful applicant will join our computing team and will be responsible maintaining and preparing the resources in our CISCO workshop and learning spaces.
You should have the following:
You should have technical experience in a relevant IT role or an educational environment. Experience of setting up and maintaining computer equipment and networks for students or clients to practice network and system administration procedures. Experience of managing and scheduling maintenance programmes for equipment and technical resources. You will have had involvement and experience of supervision and providing technical support to students/trainees in a workshop environment. An understanding of CISCO would be an advantage. Ongoing staff training and support is available as part of our professional development for curriculum staff.
