Portland College is a vibrant national college for people with a wide range of disabilities and associated learning difficulties. The College has a successful Education department, which was judged as Good at the most recent OfSTED inspection. The College has reviewed and developed the delivery model that meets the needs of a range of key stakeholders to support positive outcomes for learners who study at the College. To ensure continuous improvement the college has created a specific role for subject delivery where tutors will focus on key areas to provide outstanding learning and teaching.
You will be able to provide outstanding teaching and learning in two or more specific subject areas as determined by the needs of the cohorts of learners and relevant to your skill sets.
You will liaise with Progression Tutors to establish appropriate skills needed and skills gaps to support aspects of a learners study programme and provide them with the skills needed to be successful in the workplace, develop a bank of resources that are appropriate and effective for all learners regardless of ability and evaluate the effectiveness of learning, teaching, and assessment on learner progress and achievement.
You will be required to hold a Teaching qualification Education and Training Level 4 or equivalent or willingness to work towards within an agreed time frame and English and Maths level 2 or willingness to work towards in an agreed time frame.
