The Team
The Geography department comprises of four teachers who teach all students at KS3 and KS4 and Geography is a very popular choice at GCSE and A Level. Our teachers are specialists in their subject areas and are supported by a senior leadership team, which consists of the Principal, two Vice Principals and five Assistant Principals (including SENDco). Each faculty area has a Director of Learning and Associate Heads of Faculty for English, Mathematics and Science.
The Humanities team is part of the highly successful Social Sciences Faculty and all students pursue at least one subject from Geography, History and Religious Studies at GCSE and A level numbers are very strong in all the Humanities subjects.
What we are looking for
We are seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspiring Humanities Teacher (NQT or experienced) with an ability to teach Geography across the full age and ability range. The ability to offer a second subject such as Religious Studies and/or History would be advantageous.
You will be able to demonstrate:
• Appropriate experience of teaching across the full age and ability range
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of Geography at KS3 and 4
• Awareness of current developments in Geography
• Enthusiasm for your subject with the ability to communicate that to others
• The ability to communicate clearly with good interpersonal skills
• Excellent practical skills combined with good classroom management and organisational skills
• The ability to inspire all students to achieve their full potential
