The History Department at Y Pant has an established record of success at Key Stage 3, GCSE and Advanced Level and makes a strong contribution to the realisation of Y Pant’s targets for continued success. History is taught as a discrete subject area throughout Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 and each member of staff has their own dedicated teaching room within an area of the school. The position has become available due to the promotion of an internal candidate to the Head of History role commencing September. The current members of the department are well qualified and established professionals who work closely as a team to assure the quality of the History education given to pupils at Y Pant. Government and Politics is also offered at A Level.
We are looking to appoint a dedicated, dynamic and ambitious teacher to join our team of strong practitioners and continue the tradition of excellence within this subject area and fostering the genuine love of history amongst our students.
The successful candidate will have:
· A passion for History
· Excellent subject knowledge
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· The determination and resilience to succeed
· Be able to teach across the ability and age 11-19 range (including A Level)
· Be committed to extra-curricular activities, and prepared to lead them
· Be ambitious for themselves as a professional and for their pupils academically
· Have a great sense of humour!
