We are seeking to appoint a teacher of Humanities for a maternity cover at Milford Haven Secondary School. The successful applicant will have an expertise in teaching and assessing History in Key Stages 3 & 4 and be able to prepare exam classes for their WJEC examinations. An ability to teach Sociology may be an advantage.
The successful candidate will show an enthusiasm and passion for planning, delivering and assessing high quality learning and teaching. They will be willing to participate in whole school initiatives to raise the profile of the subject, such as Remembrance Day. The successful applicant needs to be confident in working on their own initiative as well as contributing to the AOLE as a whole. In addition to teaching History, a successful candidate will be expected to teach an integrated Humanities course in year 7 in line with the Curriculum for Wales. Therefore, a willingness and confidence in teaching Ethics/Religious Studies and Geography at KS3 will also be an important advantage. The Humanities AOLE is committed to integrating the curriculum to reflect the diversity and traditions of the local, Welsh and global communities.
