Governors are looking to appoint an outstanding candidate to the key role of Teacher of Maths at the Abertillery Learning Community (ALC). The successful candidate will be a dynamic, inspirational and experienced classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge who is able to demonstrate sound leadership qualities. They will have high expectations for staff and students alike with clear experience of the strategies needed to embed numeracy skills across all subject areas and will be passionate about their own learning and development. They will work within a department that has high expectations for its learners enabling them to reach their full potential whilst continuing to raise standards as part of a strong Maths team which has seen a 20% improvement in pupil outcomes over the past three years.
ALC is a unique multi-site all through school that is going through an exciting period of transformation as the through school ethos develops across all key stages.
From September 2020, we require a highly skilled and talented teacher of Mathematics teaching at Key Stages 3 and 4 across all ability ranges.
ALC is based in the town of Abertillery. It is comprised of a Secondary Campus and 3 Primary campuses, Six Bells Campus, Roseheyworth Rd Campus and Tillery St Campus. It is an exciting and unique organisation and, as a multi campus all through school, all staff are afforded a wide range of opportunities for carefully co-ordinated cross phase working that supports both learner and staff development.
