We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work as 1-2-1 support, assisting a student with additional medical needs. Our ideal candidate will have experience of working with students with additional medical needs.
This post is specifically to support a student with additional medical needs, working to their care plan alongside teaching and support staff, with regular contact with parents/carers and external agencies.
Our ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator able to build a supportive and trusting relationship with a student, to enable them to attend to the student’s personal care and needs with dignity. You will be trained in the school’s Supporting Students with Medical Conditions Policy and key protocols to be able to fully understand and carry out their duty of care to the student.
As a Teaching Assistant you will work alongside the class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of a key student, supporting independence, self-esteem and social inclusion, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.
This post is from September 2023. Working hours are 8.20am to 4pm Monday to Friday, which includes unpaid rest breaks and totals 36 working hours per week. The actual salary for this post working term time only, plus 23 days paid annual leave and 8 days bank holiday (45.2 weeks paid) is £18,857.00 rising in increments to £20,413.00pa.
