St. David’s College is a popular and over-subscribed Sixth Form College providing high quality education for 16-19 year olds within Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. In our 2019 Estyn inspection we achieved an ‘excellent’ grade in inspection area one for standards, and in inspection area five for leadership and management.
Governors seek to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Welsh Champion with the ability to organise and manage their own workload.
St David’s Catholic Sixth Form College is looking for an enthusiastic individual to increase its Welsh bilingual provision, and to enable the College to respond effectively to the Welsh Government’s Welsh Education Strategy.
The successful candidate will develop Welsh language units, together with working with managers to increase the number of units and modules available through the medium of Welsh/bilingually, in accordance with the College’s Welsh Language Scheme. The person will be a personal tutor to the college’s bilingual cohort of learners and deliver aspects of the Welsh Baccalaureate to Welsh medium learners.
We are looking for an individual with excellent bilingual communication skills (both oral and written), together with excellent organisational and administrative skills and a proven ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders.

The position is offered as a full or part–time role on a fixed term contract of 1 year. It attracts a salary scale of between £25,163 - £30,504 dependant on experience.
This is not a term time only role.
The interview will consist of competency based questions and an in tray exercise.
