Work Placement and Progression Co-ordinator (X2 positions). Health & Science. Full Time (37 hours) and Part Time (18.5 hours). Term Time Only (40 weeks per year). Permanent.
We are looking to appoint two Work Placement and Progression Coordinator’s to join the Health and Science curriculum area.
As a Work Placement and Progression Coordinator you will work with students, colleagues and employers to secure work experience opportunities for students on a full time study programme. You will carry out Health and Safety risk assessments and act as the first point of contact for the employer and the students prior to and during the work experience opportunity. You will support students to become independent through the development of their employability skills, preparing them to progress to positive destinations. You will also build on your professional contacts to develop and maintain relationships that will be beneficial to the students gaining meaningful work placements.
The successful applicant will hold a Level 3 or equivalent qualification in either Health or Science, along with a Level 2 minimum in English and maths (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above, or equivalent). Relevant experience and knowledge of the Health or Science sector is essential along with a wide range of network contacts in your particular field.
It would be beneficial to have an understanding of T-levels and the changes these will bring to the FE sector. You will also have comprehensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
You will be a proactive individual and possess excellent communication skills with the ability to approach difficult issues in a calm and responsible manner. You will be able to build effective working relationships with employers, colleagues and students to maximise opportunities with local connections within the Health and Science sectors to help carry out the job effectively.
