The College's success rates on AS/A Levels and advanced vocational courses consistently exceed national benchmarks, firmly placing Newcastle-under-Lyme College among the top 25% of further education colleges in the country.
At Newcastle-under-Lyme College, we recognise that results matter to young people and their parents.
We’re already the best performing college in Staffordshire and the latest DfE tables (January 2015) show that 93% of NULC students achieved three or more A level passes, and 99% achieved three or more substantial vocational qualifications; placing NULC firmly in the national top 10 of colleges for both measures out of 300 colleges in the country.
Achieving three or more substantial qualifications is key to unlocking progression on to university and into a good career. At NULC more than 800 students go on to higher education each year at more than 92 different universities - just one of the reasons why we’re the first choice of college locally.
Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) held its annual awards celebration on 23rd June, where 45 different awards were made for outstanding contributions and successes. Among the new awards presented for the first time were the Ellen Anderson Award, the Gordon Banks Award for Sporting Excellence, Coach of the Year and The Principal's Award.
Overall A Level pass rate increased to 99.2%
Advanced Vocational Courses 2015
99% pass rate with 350 students achieving the top triple distinction grade or higher - equivalent to 3 As at A Level and attracting the same number of UCAS points.
100% pass rate in 15 out of 17 subjects.
Our 16-18 apprenticeship results are 10% higher than the national average!
