Derby College is one of the largest and most successful Further Education Colleges in the UK. The College was formed in March 2002 following the three-way merger of Derby Tertiary College Wilmorton, Broomfield College and Mackworth College Derby. February 2010 saw a further merger between Derby College and South East Derbyshire College. One of the College's key strengths is its extensive choice of subjects and qualifications which makes for a buzzing campus atmosphere across our four sites. Every year we welcome over 30,000 learners on courses of all levels, from pre-16 provision for school learners to higher education courses and work-based qualifications. Our portfolio covers everything from GCSEs to degrees, vocational courses to adult education and apprenticeships to bespoke solutions for business. Flexible study options mean that learners can study at a pace that suits their lifestyle and commitments. Clear progression routes ensure all our students gain a real sense of purpose and direction as they work towards their goals.
DCG delivers high-quality academic, vocational and technical education that empowers people to achieve their ambitions while providing employers across the Midlands and beyond with the talented workforce of tomorrow.
Through a dynamic and responsive curriculum, it predicts and serves the needs of its business and civic communities. Students of all ages and backgrounds are prepared for positive destinations in the next stage of their lives, whether that be further study, the world of work, entrepreneurship or independent living. They leave DCG ready to contribute to society as responsible citizens.
The Group’s portfolio of educational programmes and skills solutions is underpinned by thriving partnerships with employers, shaped by comprehensive market intelligence and informed by liaison with key stakeholders such as the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership.
A truly diverse organisation, the Group is formed of four Colleges – the Roundhouse, the Joseph Wright Centre, Broomfield Hall and the Community College, Ilkeston. Every year it caters for thousands of learners spanning school pupils on pre-16 programmes, post-16 students pursuing academic and technical pathways, apprentices at all levels, higher education students, and adults seeking career progression, upskilling and reskilling.
Derby College has around 1,400 staff working in a wide range of roles - and every single one of them contributes to our success as a leader in education and training.
The career opportunities available are diverse. With hundreds of courses in academic and vocational areas covering many different sectors, we need to recruit staff from a variety of specialist and technical backgrounds.
However, running a College is not just about teaching. Ours is a dynamic organisation where you will find opportunities to advance your career in professions ranging from finance to administration, marketing to IT, HR to business development, librarianship to management.
We have around 26,000 learners and we are investing heavily in transforming the College estate. We therefore also need talented staff for roles dedicated to supporting students and ensuring they enjoy high-quality learning facilities.
We are keen to recruit and retain talented people who can play a key role in realising the College's mission. We will value your ideas, develop your skills, treat you with respect and recognise your endeavours
Due to the sheer scope of the College's services, you could find yourself working on campus or in a variety of settings in the wider community and business world. Wherever you are based, you'll be able to tap into a range of benefits and numerous opportunities to develop personally and professionally.
Whatever job opportunity sparks your interest, you'll find Derby College to be an efficient, caring and rewarding place to pursue your career.
