Talented and Valued Workforce
A challenging but supportive culture where everyone takes ownership of the mission, vision and values of the college.
Equality & Diversity
Oaklands College is committed to the promotion and implementation of equality and diversity in all its activities, both as a provider of services and as an employer. The college welcomes diversity and recognises values, celebrates and respects the many different contributions and needs of our students, staff and communities we serve.
Staff Development
Staff development is important to the college in their journey towards excellence. We support all staff to achieve qualifications relevant to their role such as Teacher Training and assessing, along with Level 2 qualifications in literacy, numeracy and ICT for all staff.
It is a huge privilege for me to take up the role of Oaklands College Principal and Chief Executive. Oaklands is a wonderful community that drives aspiration and provides support and opportunities for its students in equal measure so that each and every one of them is able to reach their full potential. Our staff are passionate about the power of the curious mind and we encourage our students to challenge themselves and to grow. We treat each student as an individual and nurture them throughout their time at Oaklands and believe that we are partners in their journey.
I am hugely ambitious for our students, our staff and for Oaklands College and the communities it serves. The vibrant external partnerships and passion of our staff means that we can continue with our ambitious campus developments to support our current and emerging Centres of Excellence, which includes our National and internationally leading Sports provision, as well as our teaching in ICT, Engineering, Art Fashion & Design and SEND. We also have a strong values set which underpins our on-going development as a purpose driven and ethical organisation, supporting global imperatives such as sustainability, equality and health & wellbeing.
Andrew Slade, Principal of Oaklands College
