United Colleges Group offers education and training in almost all vocational areas at a variety of levels for a wide range of learners of all ages and starting points.
Sector specialisms include Business & Accountancy, Construction, Engineering, IT, Computing & Robotics, Public Services, Science, Sport, Creative & Digital Industries and Provision for Learners with High Needs. In 2017, CWC’s timely apprenticeship achievement and timely adult achievement rates were the highest in London and amongst the best in the country. Prior to merger, both colleges were awarded a Grade 2 (Good) following inspections by Ofsted, CWC in 2013 and CNWL in 2016.
UCG has extensive and effective employer links with key employers in London and nationally, including Crossrail, MetroNet, London Underground, Skanska and Land Securities, United Biscuits, Arup, Atkins, McLaren. The Group has the capacity to respond effectively to the skills needs of London, and to deliver on national contracts.
The United Colleges Group was formed from the merger of City of Westminster College and the College of North West London. On 1 August 2017, the corporation of The College of North West London and the City of Westminster College merged to form a new combined and ambitious college group. With a complementary curriculum, significant experience and a wide geographical spread, the college group has a solid foundation to succeed. With the success of its individual brands, the United Colleges Group, will be retaining both the Colleges of North West London and City of Westminster Colleges as individual colleges.
However, behind the scenes, the group will utilising the expertise from both colleges to improve systems, processes and create efficiencies. In fact the complementary nature of both colleges allows significant benefits to the group as the merger progresses.
"We are committed to being a unique and innovative place of learning where risk is rewarded and success is acknowledged as we improve the life chances of our learners. If you feel that this is a place that will inspire you then we would love to hear from you."
