About Us

UTC Oxfordshire opened in September 2015, in Didcot, for boys and girls aged 14 to 19 living in the catchment area. Our UTC specialises in life sciences, physical sciences and engineering, alongside a broad and balanced curriculum. We benefit from the support of local employers and three leading universities.

Our aspiration is for UTC Oxfordshire to provide scientifically focused and high technology education for a broad catchment area. Our science and engineering specialisms will also draw in young people from further afield, creating a regional centre of excellence.

Principals Welcome

Welcome to UTC Oxfordshire, an extraordinary place where we help young people learn and prepare for their specialist careers in Science and Engineering.

I feel very privileged to be leading UTC Oxfordshire. Students aged 14-19 join us from across our region for an exciting and unique learning experience. We are based in brand new, state of the art facilities, in the heart of Oxfordshire, near an expanding cluster of science and engineering employers.

We are committed to helping our students gain the qualifications and experience that their future employers are looking for. Our curriculum combines core academic subjects with the opportunity to study and gain practical experience in our specialist areas. From day one, students are engaged in solving genuine problems using industry specialist equipment. This helps give them a headstart in their chosen careers.

Students at UTC Oxfordshire are supported by our committed and experienced teaching staff, and a wide range of industry partners such as BMW, The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), RM Education, and our sponsors, Activate Learning, Royal Holloway (University of London) and Reading University. We all work together, sharing our passion for science and engineering with our students, helping equip them with the knowledge and skills they will need for a successful career.

I look forward to you joining us for this unique and exciting opportunity.

Principal, Sam Knowlton
