Trust Welcome

On behalf of the Board of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF), I would like to thank you for your interest in working for our trust.

Your interest in the CLF coincides with one of the most exciting phases in our development. Since forming as a multi-academy trust in 2009, we have developed from a small Bristol-based secondary education partnership to an instinctively collaborative family of 36 schools, serving the educational needs of 18,000+ children and young people aged 2 to 19. Recent growth means our academies are now based across five clusters in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Somerset. We continue to be sponsored by the University of the West of England and Rolls-Royce PLC.

The CLF employs more than 3,000 people in a range of roles designed to help children to be successful in their lives. We also rely on the time and commitment of over 200 volunteer governors, who share our values and ambitions.

Meaningful collaboration lies at the heart of our culture, and we are proud participants in a number of local, regional and national networks to support the broader education sector.

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about us. We look forward to welcoming you as a new colleague. I know that together, we will ensure all of our children and young people are prepared for lifelong success.

Trust Information

Background

The Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2025, having grown from its Bristol beginnings to its current total of 36 schools operating between Gloucestershire in the north and Somerset in the south. Throughout that evolution, our core purpose has remained consistent: we believe that by working together rather than in isolation, we can accelerate school improvement and embed excellence in our academies. In doing so, we create more opportunities for the lifelong success of our students.

Mission

To consistently deliver excellent educational experiences for pupils aged 2-19, improving their life chances and serving the communities of which we are a member.

Vision

Our vision is simple: we believe that by working together rather than in isolation we can accelerate school improvement and embed excellence in our academies. In doing so, together we can create more opportunities for the lifelong success for our students. That mission is underpinned by our long-established HEART values, which shape our decision-making and behaviours. These values ensure our students are at the forefront of our minds as we seek to deliver on our strategic goal of creating equity through education.

Our culture is one of purpose and collaboration, and its key binding agent is a shared, and deep-rooted moral imperative to improve lives.

Our People

We are keen to attract talented and committed people who share our values and who will unite behind our mission.

We see our people as our strength, and seek colleagues who are comfortable with complexity and make a virtue of doing better and improving standards. Our people are learners, committed to deepening their knowledge and understanding of themselves, their role, their position of influence and responsibility to those we support to thrive in their lives

We want our staff to be engaged and motivated to be the best versions of themselves every day.

In return, we offer an environment which is welcoming, diverse and inclusive of all, and fully representative of the communities we serve. And while we work hard, we also value balance in our busy lives, and use modern technology to support us and adopt flexible approaches to working and learning.

We care about our people and their wellbeing and support all colleagues with a host of resources, from wellbeing apps to counselling and access to occupational health. We offer an environment where everyone can thrive, enjoy a sense of belonging and achieve ongoing work fulfilment and career development within resilient and empowered teams shaped by inspiring leaders.

If this sounds like an organisation where you could flourish, we would love to hear from you.

Safeguarding Statement

The Cabot Learning Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles across the trust have a varying level of responsibility for ensuring safeguarding practice, with some roles holding significant responsibility and involving working with children on a daily basis in regulated activity. Regardless of the level of responsibility and involvement in each role, we expect all staff, visiting professionals and volunteers to share this commitment.

All successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive pre-employment checking process, including an enhanced DBS check (including a further check against the appropriate barred list), references from current and previous employers, health, right to work in the UK, child disqualification, prohibition from teaching/management and online checks.
