Job overview

We are looking for a Head of Geography. This is an exciting opportunity to join GLT / Brakenhale School and become an integral member of the humanities team. We are an 11 to 18 school situated on the southern side of Bracknell town centre. We are a community school. Our commitment to high standards and outstanding teaching has led us to become the school of choice for families in Bracknell Forest. You will also be joining a terrific team, emphasising the importance of cooperation and teamwork. We are looking to hire a Head of Geography to support, hold accountable, develop and lead a team of teachers focusing on the Geography curricular area to ensure high standards of teaching and learning, the raising of standards and the wellbeing of staff and students.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a Teacher/Tutor
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to accelerate with their learning
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment across the school
  • To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth

You will need:

  • Relevant degree
  • Qualified Teacher Status or be working towards
  • Experience of working in a school setting
