Reporting to the Head of High Needs and SEND Provision, and working predominantly within the School of Sixth Form Studies with students who have additional needs. The College is seeking a suitably experienced person to line manage the small team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and oversee the High Needs students within this area.

The role will include the covering of lessons (where necessary), student interventions, including low level behaviour, co-ordinating functional skills exams, the collation of data and evidence for Annual Reviews.

• Has a positive behaviour management approach whilst also being committed to removing the barriers to learning in order to enable all students to achieve and succeed
• Is proactive, resilient and has high aspirations in all aspects of college life
Ideally, you should:
• Be able to demonstrate a minimum of two years relevant experience and impact in a teaching environment
• Be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or hold the HLTA certificate or a higher qualification
• Have Grade C passes in English and Maths, or equivalent
A good sense of humour and a flexible nature is essential!
Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service application
Support Staff Scale Point 26 - FTE £23,105 pro-rated
£16,104 Actual Salary + £1,216 annual allowance
30 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year)
One year fixed term contract from 1st September 2021 to 31st August 2022
