Morley College London is seeking an MIS Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day functions of the Management Information Services department and provide the highest level of service to our staff and students. This role is responsible for overseeing the pivotal MIS helpdesk, timetabling, examinations, and statutory returns teams, whilst serving as the lead deputy for the Director of MIS. Our data isn’t just numbers - it’s at the heart of student success, effective staff working practices and the future developments of our college, so this role will ensure that college data is accurate, clean, and compliant with funding and audit regulations to safeguard the College’s future.

As a manager, you will provide direct leadership and performance management for:

• Team Leader: Assessment and Examinations

• Team Leader: Funding & Curriculum Planning

• Three MIS Helpdesk and Timetabling Officers

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Management: Manage the MIS Helpdesk and Timetabling functions, providing 2nd line support for complex cases and maintaining high service standards through a service-minded team culture.

• Data Integrity & Compliance: Ensure all college data meets funding agency requirements and is prepared for internal and external audits.

• Curriculum Planning: Work with senior leadership, including the Chief Planning and Data Officer and the CFO, to coordinate timely curriculum reviews and course planning cycles.

• Staffing & Payroll Support: Lead the auditing of timetabling information, particularly for 16–18 study programmes, to ensure teaching activity is accurately recorded on UNIT-e for tutor pay.

• Process Improvement: Devise and document new procedures to improve college operations and provide training guides for non-MIS staff.

• Examinations Support: Support the Assessment and Examinations Team Leader in managing student registrations, exam conduct, and results notification.

About You

We are looking for a analytical and service-minded leader who can translate complex data and processes into clear information for a variety of audiences.

Key Requirements:

• Leadership: Proven experience managing teams and driving performance in a busy operational environment.

• Expertise: A strong understanding of college curriculum structures and educational funding requirements.

• Technical Skills: Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail; experience with UNIT-e is highly desirable.

• Education: A degree or equivalent, ideally in an information management-related field.

• Communication: The ability to build productive relationships across college teams (Finance, HR, Academic teams, etc.).
