Ideal candidates

We need you, your knowledge, skills, and experience for full, part-time, and casual roles. You don’t need to hold a teaching qualification!

All we ask is a willingness to achieve, the drive and the dedication to work towards a qualification, if required, or relevant industry experience.

You may have already worked in a further education college or a workplace training environment. You may be interested in bringing the skills that you’ve learned from industry or business. Either way, we have a range of opportunities and avenues for qualified and unqualified, lecturers and assessors. We also have a wide range of support functions and administrative roles.

We’d love to hear from you, maybe you currently work in education, have taken a break and want to return to employment, working in industry or something completely different.

We have lots to offer, from a great holiday package for all staff, on-site nurseries and gyms, access to training, Starbucks and/or Costa on most campuses, peer-to-peer coaching, Mental Health First Aiders and much more.

We pride ourselves in helping students to grow in confidence and self-esteem. We invite you to show us why you want to be part of Team NWSLC!

“I was only 18 when I joined the College, firstly as a temp and then into the reception team. The type of work I have done has been vast and has changed enormously over that time… When I first started, I was very shy, and people noticed that I didn’t say much. Now I think they would probably say I talk too much! The time has just flown by and I’m not sure where 40 years have gone; it only feels like yesterday that I started. The college has supported me through good times and bad and my colleagues have become like a work family.”

Julie James
40 years long service award and Employee of the Year 2021

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

We are an inclusive employer, and we strive to make people feel welcome, ensuring that it is safe for them to express who they choose to be, demonstrating our appreciation for their input, working collaboratively and showing we care.

We are proud to be recognised for the work we do to support our team. We have been recognised with a Silver award for promoting employment policies that support members of the armed forces, veterans, and their families. The college first signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2019 formalising its status as a forces-friendly employer when it pledged to guarantee an interview to all service leaver applicants.

NWSLC is committed to its statutory duties as set out in the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty, and this commitment is reflected in the College Equality Scheme.

The College’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy provides guidance on how the College aims to meet its equality duty and how policies, procedures, plans and practices are monitored for adverse impact. The Policy also sets out how discrimination and harassment on the basis of any of the protected characteristics will be dealt with and prevented.
