TEACHER OF SCIENCE & SPARC STEM Lead

 

Full Time, Permanent

Pay: Main Scale + TLR2a for SPARC STEM responsibility* (funded externally until at least 31/08/2026)

Required for January 2026 or as soon as possible.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our high-achieving and caring team at Ysgol Bro Gwaun.

  

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher of Science to KS3 and GCSE level. The successful candidate will also lead the SPARC initiative, which is being funded through the ‘Swansea Bay Deal’ to promote female participation in careers related to renewables, engineering and construction. This is a project which is aimed at supporting the significant investment planned for the development of renewable and other energy related industries in the south of the county

  

The successful candidate will be a confident, effective teacher, passionate about their subject, able to motivate and work well with students and colleagues.

* Please note that this funding is externally provided and is available to all secondary schools in Pembrokeshire. It is not part of the school’s normal funding stream and the decision to remove or keep the funding in place will be made by the SPARC strategic development board.
