Thank you for your interest in the role of teaching assistant at West Lea School. The salary range for this role is NJC Outer London Scale 3 (Scale Point 5 to 6) £20,344 -£20,652. The hours are 31.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 INSET days) and this is a permanent role. Teaching assistants at West Lea School provide care, support and assistance to the learners - all of whom have complex needs. These may include medical needs, physical disability, speech and language and communication difficulties, emotional and learning difficulties.
We aim to enable learners to participate and develop their abilities with our inclusive and needs based classroom practice with a joined-up approach to relationships, behavior and teaching and learning. Class Teams, Teachers, HLTA and TAs, work together to break down barriers through their use of our personalized, adaptive and inclusive curriculum. Class Teams enable learners to enjoy a range of activities that broaden their horizons as well as developing future proofed skills.
Support staff across the whole school work to allow all our learners to flourish at West Lea and beyond.
