This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef, hospitality professional or culinary educator to bring current industry expertise into education and inspire the next generation of talent.

Joining Yeovil College at a pivotal time of growth and investment, you will work within a revitalised college environment shaped by a £60 million transformation programme, including our impressive new teaching kitchen facilities opening in 2027, designed to elevate the learner experience and reflect modern industry standards. In this role, you will lead and coordinate a high-quality, industry-led study programme, delivering engaging teaching, learning and assessment across hospitality and catering courses. Working closely with employers and curriculum colleagues, you will design a sequenced and vocationally authentic curriculum that supports learner achievement, raises aspirations and reflects the evolving needs of the hospitality industry. You will also champion enrichment opportunities including trips, guest chefs, masterclasses and industry placements, while monitoring learner progress, attendance and performance to ensure exceptional outcomes. Alongside curriculum development, quality assurance and employer engagement, you will promote inclusive practice, equality, diversity and the professional behaviours expected within the modern hospitality sector. What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years’ industry experience in senior chef or hospitality roles
  • Experience teaching hospitality and catering across a range of courses and learner levels
  • Level 3 Catering qualification and a teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards
  • Passion for hospitality, teaching and developing future culinary professionals
  • Proven ability to inspire learners and support high levels of achievement and progression
  • Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills with a professional approach
  • Confident using initiative, managing workloads and working effectively under pressure
  • Flexible, positive and learner-focused with high expectations for standards and outcomes
