High Performance Football Manager
Location: The Henley College, Henley-on-Thames
Contract Type: Permanent –37 hours per week
Salary: Management Support Grade 33. £41,793.00, per annum, 1FTE
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:00 (including 1 hour unpaid lunch break). Friday 08:30 – 16:30 (including 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
About the Role
The Henley College is seeking a motivated and experienced High Performance Football Manager to lead the College’s High Performance Football Programme, delivered in partnership with Wycombe Wanderers Foundation.
The post holder will provide strategic, technical and operational leadership across multiple squads, ensuring a high-quality student-athlete experience that integrates elite football performance with outstanding academic outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
• Provide strategic and technical leadership across the High Performance Football Programme
• Line manage college coaching staff and performance analysts
• Provide technical alignment for partner coaches from Wycombe Wanderers Foundation
• Develop and continuously review an evidence-led performance programme
• Monitor student-athlete academic attendance (minimum 95%) and progress
• Lead recruitment, trials and talent identification activities
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and First Aid/Sudden Cardiac Arrest compliance
• Maintain accurate records and reporting on programme performance
About You
• Holds a UEFA B Licence (minimum)
• Has experience coaching within a performance or academy environment
• Demonstrates strong leadership, organisation and communication skills
• Understands long-term athlete development principles
• Committed to safeguarding, student welfare and academic success
• Flexible and proactive with a positive, professional outlook
