What's new to FEjobs this summer?
The summer holidays will be fast upon us, and we’ve been working hard to provide new updates across your Client Portal and our job board.
Find out what’s new before you break up for the end of term:
Remote Working vacancy tagging
In this post-Covid day and age, we know many employers are now offering remote working flexibility for teaching and non-teaching roles alike. Therefore, you can now toggle on or off if your job has remote working as an opportunity. Likewise, candidates can filter their job search when looking for remote, hybrid or working from home suitable jobs.
KCSIE updates on our application form
Following the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) statutory guidance updates from the government that are coming into force in September 2022, we’ve updated candidate information across our online application form as well as our best practice declarations request email template that is built into the Client Portal.
We also have scheduled changes to our best practice interview invitation email templates which will be live in September, making candidates aware that as a shortlisted candidate they may be subject to an online search as part of the recruitment process.
Widened vacancy criteria for 'Suitable for' tagging
We’ve widened the criteria that brings up the “Suitable for” options, so you can mark more jobs as being appropriate for a Graduate, Apprentice or ECT. Now, any job that isn’t considered Leadership or Management will have the option to be marked as “Suitable for”. This means ECTs and other graduates conducting specific searches using these filters have more chance of finding your role.
Social share source tracking
If you wish to share a vacancy on social media using the “share” option within your Client Portal, the ‘source’ will be accurately tracked to identify when candidates have applied to your job advert via each social platform. You can see this source against each candidate in the Recruiting Pipeline, and clients with our Premium licence can also see this in the “Candidate Sources” report.
We’ve also updated our social sharing options on the job board with a new look and feel. Candidates can now share jobs via popular applications such as WhatsApp and our mobile version of the site has been enhanced for optimal sharing.
Additional questions layout changes
Based on your feedback, we have improved the layout of our online application forms to make them easier to read any additional questions you may have added. This has been changed to a row display instead of column display to accommodate lengthy responses provided by the candidate for a better user experience. This avoids taking up lots of space on the page based on the length of the response, utilising full span of the page from left to right.
Client Portal email functionality improved
For our Premium clients, the email functionality has been improved to provide a seamless journey. When you start an email trail within your Client Portal, you will receive notifications when you’ve had a reply and you can respond from your own inbox or your Client Portal, whatever is easier! You can view all correspondence in the Email tab in your Client Portal, keeping all recruitment communications in one place. On top of this, we’ve also made some improvements to the email performance, meaning less emails will end up in a candidate’s junk folder.
Multiple selection "Hours" field
What was once a single choice field has been updated, allowing you to select multiple “Hours” for your job to provide flexibility and attract a wider range of candidates looking for work. Whether your vacancy is suitable for either a full time or part time employee, or is full time but term time only, you can now detail this in your advert and reach those candidates looking for niche working hours.
Improved user experience within the Reporting Suite
Dates set during reporting will be retained across the Reporting Suite, even when you navigate out of one report and into another. This provides a smoother experience when running reports from the Client Portal.
Client Portal slider improvements
After listening to customer feedback, we have improved our slider functionality within the Client Portal, so that the slider will remain open for as long as you are working within it (for example typing an email to a candidate or renaming a file in the document library).
We’ve also made improvements to our job board for a better mobile experience for our candidates.
Improved job search experience for mobile users
Over 68% of candidates are searching and applying for jobs via their mobile, which means more job views and more applications!
We have added pagination to our mobile search results pages. When a candidate searches through jobs via their mobile, if they click into a job and then navigate back to the search page, it will no longer send them to the top of the results, but instead, back to the page they were previously on, giving a smoother job seeking experience. We estimate this will keep candidates on our site for longer and view more jobs on average, leading to more job views and applications for you!
