Aims and Mission Statement
In reflecting on our aims and our mission statement, we must understand we are not a school for Christians but a multi-ethnic, multi-faith and multi-cultural school which applies Christian values to its mission. We model Jesus’ kingdom values and his relationship with his followers in our relationship to our community, children and their families and carers.
Aims
At Belgrave St. Peter's our visions and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.
We recognise that in a multicultural, multi-ethnic and multi-faith city that the values we hold are not uniquely Christian but rather are shared with many of those around us. What makes our school distinctive is how we understand those values and apply them to our daily lives.
St Peter's holds five key values: Love, trust, faith, honesty and perseverance.
Each of these values is informed by and can be measured against the Christian Tradition.
To summarise:
- Love, based in community, for God and neighbour
- Trust, knowing that God is with you in difficult times
- Faith, believing that God will help you to achieve things you did not think possible
- Honesty, being true to God and true to yourself
- Perseverance, we all fail but if we work through to the end we succeed.
