A message from the Principal

"Welcome to The Godolphin Junior Academy, a four form entry junior school, situated in the heart of our Slough community. We are proud to be part of The Park Federation Academy Trust. The Park Federation is one of the longest established and most experienced primary federations in the country with ten schools across Slough, Buckinghamshire and Hillingdon. All schools within the federation are graded by Ofsted as Good or Outstanding.

At Godolphin, we are proud of every child who enters the doors of our school, and we nurture and encourage the potential of every pupil. Our school motto is 'Godolpin Grows Success' because we are driven to meet the needs of every pupil, and provide them with the very best learning opportunities so that every child can thrive and flourish.

We have a wonderfully diverse community at Godolphin which is a key strength of our academy. We celebrate this diversity and promote inclusion throughout our engaging and stimulating curriculum.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, and we are committed to ensuring that we are ambitious for every child. At Godolphin, every teacher is a teacher of SEND and our approach is always that we 'meet needs, not labels'.

There are three diamond rules at Godolphin which we expect our whole school community to be committed to. These rules are used more as values and life skills which we actively teach our pupils and embed throughout our curriculum. These values are key to making our school the caring and welcoming school that it is, and will enable our pupils to be socially adept, active citizens who contribute positively to society.

  • Care for everyone and everything
  • Show respect and good manners at all times
  • Follow instructions with care and thought

Our school is warm and welcoming which is evident as soon as you step foot in the door. We are proud to be a happy, safe school that fosters a love of learning and a lust for life!

Welcome to The Godolphin Junior Academy. "

Aims

Our aim at Godolphin is for every child to thrive. To achieve this, we are committed to creating the right conditions for our colleagues, our families and our community so that everyone can flourish. We are dedicated to serving our whole school community so that every child at GJA is a confident individual, who is proud of themselves, is successful and is ready for the next phase of their education.

'Godolphin Grows Success' is the driving force behind ensuring everyone, every day is determined to achieve their personal best.

Values

Our values are our three diamond rules:

  • Show respect and good manners at all times.
  • Follow instructions with thought and care.
  • Care for everyone and everything.

We teach pupils how to demonstrate these qualities and behaviours in a weekly lesson called R Time. R Time stands for 'Relationships to Improve Education.' Throughout every area of our curriculum we continue to practise and live these important values.

Through fully embracing these rules in our everyday life, Godolphin have created a school where relationships and well-being are at the centre of learning. Everybody who walks through the doors of our school is immediately greeted with a kind welcome, good manners and a positive, friendly atmosphere. Children care for one another and know that every adult in our school is championing them, has respect for their individuality and is committed to developing them to be responsible citizens.

About The Park Federation Academy Trust

Welcome from the CEO and Federation Principal - Dr. Martin Young

TRUST.png

"The Park Federation is a community-focused multi-academy trust specialising in primary education. Our mission is to provide first-rate learning in an atmosphere of kindness, care and creativity. We are one of the longest established and most experienced primary federations in the country with ten schools in Slough, Buckinghamshire and Hillingdon. All of our schools, since joining the federation, have been graded by Ofsted as Good or Outstanding. The Park Federation is a big enough organisation to provide excellent support services to our schools, while small enough to ensure that every school and local community has a voice in the way the federation is run and the values it lives by. All our schools have their own unique character, personality and history, while simultaneously benefitting from the strength, security and resources of a larger educational partnership.

The federation was founded over 10 years ago on 16th November 2009 when Cranford Park Primary School and Wood End Park Community School began working in a formal partnership. In 2013 two more schools joined the federation - James Elliman Primary School and Montem Primary School in Slough. By 2014, the four-school federation had grown to six schools with the addition of Western House Primary School in Slough and Lake Farm Park Academy in Hillingdon. Following that, two more schools have joined the family: Godolphin Juniors in Slough and West Drayton Academy in Hillingdon. The two most recent schools to join the federation are Iver Village Infant school who joined in 2023 and Hannah Ball School who joined in 2024.

Our federation growth has been cautious and prudent. We want more children, families and staff members to benefit from joining the federation but are mindful of our responsibilities to the communities that have already placed their trust in us. Growth is never allowed to undermine our commitment to educational standards, high quality pastoral care and community service.

As of 2024, The Park Federation has ten schools: four in Slough, four in Hillingdon and two in Buckinghamshire. It cares for and educates over 6,000 children and employs over 800 people, including more than 200 primary school teachers. Within our large staff team, we have professionals who use their impressive knowledge, skills and expertise to drive educational progress and provide the care and kindness that young children need. Our ten schools look out for each other, especially when times are tough. Three of our eight schools were judged inadequate by Ofsted when they joined us. All three are now Good. We have a proven track record of school improvement and are now working to move all our schools to Outstanding. Mutual support, cooperative working and a commitment to the children and communities we serve are paying dividends."
